Abstract

According to the so-called “maritime economy”, maritime activities are one of the key elements of the Lisbon Strategy. According to the European Union, those sectors related to the exploitation of the seas have contributed to the building of the Atlantic Area identity. Some subsectors from the maritime economy face tough times, while other offer great opportunities for economic growth and employment. In this context the HARVEST ATLANTIC (Harnessing All Resources Valuable to Economies of Seaside Territories on the Atlantic) project is developed, approved by the Atlantic Area Interreg IV-B Program. This study includes the main results obtained from the above mentioned project related to the recreational nautical sector in four countries from the Atlantic area (Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Scotland). The surveys that were conducted among companies from the sector included different aspects related with their location, innovation, human capital and policy making.

En aquest estudi s’aborden aspectes relacionats amb la mesura del pes econòmic de l’esport, amb la pràctica esportiva, iamb la despesa en béns i serveis esportius a Catalunya,destacant prèviament què s’entén per sector de l’esport i per indústria de l’esport.La facturació de les empreses de la indústria de l’esport a Catalunya s’estima en 1.500 milions d’euros, i el pes del VAB esportiu sobre el total català és d’un 1,2%. D’altra banda, els catalans que practiquen esport al menys un cop a la setmana superen el 50% i la despesa anual en productes esportius supera els 840 milions d’euros. Abstract

Since the mid-nineties onwards, the theme of the Civil War and Franco’s Dictatorship has generated in Spain an enormous number of novels, newspaper articles, historical research papers and audiovisual production that highlight the problematic relevance of the theme in the present time. This article focuses on one aspect of this production: those narrations that within Catalan literature have addressed it. It is an extensive body of works in which some of the most outstanding writers have been involved. Our approach aims to study this vast and diverse production, trying to figure out the motivations and narrative approaches that govern these proposals. We’ve discerned three basic models: the testimonial, the updater and the storyteller, and we have exemplified them with the works that we have considered the most representative. Likewise, we have identified a change regarding the model of representation of historical characters and events, which tends towards multiperspectivism and a more critical vision. This change is related to the public debate that the movement of recovery of historical memory has generated throughout Spain.

This article establishes a comparison between Joan Roís de Corella’s mythological fables and Francesc Alegre’s translation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses into Catalan. The author proves by means of examples that Alegre drew on Corella’s Lamentacions and Parlament en casa de Berenguer Mercader while translating his work between circa 1472 and 1492. Further, he may have also known Corella’s Raonament de Telamó i Ulisses. Thus, even if Alegre based his text on the Latin poem, he surely completed the translation with the aid of other sources that are not made explicit, such as Bonsignori and Corella. In addition, the author suggests that Corella might have known and used Bonsignori’s Italian compilation or another version of Ovid’s poem which depended on it.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore syntactic microvariation in Catalan dialects as a source of insight into the nature of restructuring contexts and long-distance dependencies. We claim that restructuring involves a bi-clausal structure with a defective embedded domain. We provide evidence for this analysis by exploring the positions of clitics and presuppositional negative markers in restructuring contexts in Catalan varieties. On the one hand, the data collected highlights that, although clitic climbing and embedded presuppositional negation are independent phenomena, they can both be explained by the transparency of the embedded clausal boundary. On the other hand, dialectal data evince the existence of an ongoing syntactic change in the restructuring nature of some verbs. Furthermore, data collected confirms the validity of long-distance licensing as a transparency effect. This hypothesis is corroborated by the exploration of the same phenomena in subjunctive contexts.

Rodalies de Catalunya: un nou servei públic Quin és l’escenari administratiu i organitzatiu de Rodalies de Catalunya després del traspàs de la competència del servei a la Generalitat? Rodalies de Catalunya és el nom oficial que rep la nova organització funcional del servei de rodalia de Barcelona en ample ibèric. L’empresa pública Renfe Operadora presta ara aquest servei, sobre una infraestructura de titularitat estatal, per compte de la Generalitat de Catalunya, que és el titular del servei. Aquesta competència estatutària s’ha convertit en competència executiva des del 31 de desembre del 2009, pel Decret de traspàs que atribueix al Departament de Política Territorial i Obres Públiques (DPTOP) unes funcions i serveis que fins ara havia desenvolupat el Ministeri de Foment. D’altra banda, l’Acord de finançament dels serveis conté un seguit de compromisos de l’Administració estatal com a agent finançador.

== Abstract == The macroscale mechanical behaviour of crystalline materials, such as polycrystalline metals and single crystal semiconductors, is dictated by the anisotropic behaviour of individual crystals/grains and their interactions with neighboring crystals or other materials. Furthermore, the elastic-plastic response of individual crystals is associated with the underlying atomic lattice structure and phenomena of dislocation glide on the slip systems and dislocation multiplication and interactions. As a result, microstructural characteristics such as grain size, shape, and orientation, have a significant effect on the macroscale mechanical properties and performance. Moreover, these microstructural features are strongly affected by the thermal-mechanical process used to create a part. Because of this, tremendous effort has been made to develop crystal plasticity models that explicitly model the crystal (grain) scale behavior to predict the local macroscale response.   In this talk, a framework for computational modelling of discretized single or polycrystal grain structures subjected to thermal-mechanical loading conditions is presented. The model is general for finite deformations with the crystal plasticity model based on dislocation motion and interactions. A parallel finite element implementation is briefly described.
